First-time fix

Prepared for the faults we see most often.

Our aim is always to complete the repair on the first visit where possible. Experience with common laundry faults, access to parts and the information you give us before attendance all help us arrive better prepared.

  • Bearings and drive components are common areas of wear, particularly on heavily used washing machines.
  • Drain pumps and valves can be affected by lint, debris and foreign objects left in pockets, causing draining and cycle issues.
  • Door seals and hinges are high-wear components that can deteriorate through regular use.
  • Belts, rollers and drive components naturally wear over time.
  • Airflow and ventilation are considered when investigating poor drying performance, not just the heating system.
  • Common parts can often be identified in advance, helping us arrive prepared and giving us the best opportunity to complete the repair on the first visit.
On the visit

Slow drying isn’t always a heating issue.

Restricted airflow can have a significant effect on dryer performance. When investigating poor drying, we consider the complete system: filters, ductwork route and size, lint build-up and ventilation, rather than assuming a machine fault from the start.

Repair or replace

An honest answer on tired machines

Not every machine is economical to repair. We’ll consider the age and condition of the equipment, the likely cost to repair and parts availability, then give you an honest, straightforward recommendation on whether repair or replacement makes more commercial sense.

  • Repair cost compared against replacement options, so you can make an informed decision.
  • Parts availability checked, particularly on older or discontinued machines.
  • Capacity reviewed where your laundry requirements may have changed since the equipment was originally installed.
  • No pressure to replace. If repairing the existing machine remains a viable option, we will tell you.
  • Replacement equipment available, with specification, supply and installation managed by CKLS.
  • Planned maintenance or service contracts available to help manage budget and unexpected repair bills.

Questions

Before you call

Do you repair domestic machines?

No. We specialise in commercial and industrial laundry equipment. If you are currently using domestic machines in a commercial environment, we can advise on suitable commercial alternatives based on your laundry requirements.

How quickly can an engineer attend?

We always aim to attend breakdowns as quickly as possible. Response times can vary depending on your location, the equipment and the nature of the fault, but we’ll always give you an honest indication of availability when you contact us.

Why is our dryer taking twice as long?

There can be several causes of extended drying times. Restricted airflow, blocked filters, lint build-up, ductwork and inadequate ventilation can all affect dryer performance, as can faults within the machine itself. We’ll look at the complete system to identify the cause rather than assuming the dryer needs replacing.

Can you service the auto-dosing system too?

Yes. We can service and maintain commercial laundry dosing systems for our contract customers and sites without an existing chemical maintenance agreement. Where your dosing equipment is maintained by your chemical supplier as part of an existing contract, we would recommend contacting them in the first instance.

Do you offer planned servicing?

Yes. We offer planned servicing and preventative maintenance for commercial laundry equipment, tailored to the equipment, usage and requirements of your site. This can include routine maintenance, safety checks and identification of developing faults before they lead to unexpected breakdowns. We can also provide ongoing service and maintenance agreements for multiple machines or sites.
