Why the make and model matters when you call

  • Tell us the model and the fault. The more information we have before attendance, the better prepared we can be.
  • Common parts carried as van stock. Where possible, engineers carry a selection of commonly used parts to help complete repairs on the first visit.
  • Parts not carried as stock can be sourced quickly. We have access to manufacturer and specialist supplier networks across the globe.
  • Error codes, photos and videos help. These can often help us understand what’s happening before an engineer arrives.
  • The right engineer for the job. We use specialist engineers across different equipment types, helping us match the fault to the appropriate expertise.
  • Repair or replace? If continued repair isn’t commercially sensible, we will tell you and can provide replacement options.
On the visit

Diagnosed, tested and left safe

Our engineers don’t just identify the fault. Repairs are tested and equipment left safe before the job is completed, and you’ll receive clear reporting on the work carried out and any further recommendations.

Fewer breakdowns

Prevent breakdowns before they disrupt service.

Regular servicing and planned maintenance can identify wear, scale, damaged seals, blocked filters and other developing faults before they result in an unexpected breakdown.

  • Planned maintenance visits at an interval that suits how hard the kitchen works.
  • Annual gas safety checks on every gas appliance, certificated.
  • Water treatment reviewed, because scale kills combis, boilers and warewash first.
  • Filters, seals and probes replaced before they fail mid-service.
  • One report per site, listing what was done and what is coming up.
  • Priority response for contract customers when something does break.

Questions

Before you call

How quickly can an engineer attend?

We always aim to attend breakdowns as quickly as possible. Response times can vary depending on your location, the equipment and the nature of the fault, but we’ll always give you an honest indication of availability when you contact us.

Do you repair equipment you did not supply?

Yes. We work on all makes and models of commercial catering equipment, including kit supplied by other companies.

What does a call-out cost?

Charges can vary depending on the equipment, location and type of repair required. We can confirm the applicable charges with you when arranging attendance. Where additional parts are required, we will advise of any further costs before proceeding.

What should I have ready when I call?

If possible, have the make and model of the equipment, details of the fault and any error codes showing on the display. Photos and videos also help. Ask for our dedicated WhatsApp number to send these to us, which will help us with our initial assessment.

Can you repair it under warranty?

If the equipment was supplied by CKLS and still within its warranty period, contact us and we can check the warranty terms and arrange the appropriate next steps. Where possible, we send our engineers to complete the repair in a timely manner and process the claim with the manufacturer directly. Where equipment was supplied by another company, we recommend contacting them to check the warranty terms before organising a chargeable repair.
