Privacy notice

How CKLS collects, uses and protects personal data through this website, including the statistics we collect when you visit and how to turn them off.

Who we are

This website is run by Commercial Kitchen and Laundry Solutions UK Ltd, trading as CKLS. We are the data controller for the personal data you share with us through it. Registered in England and Wales, company number 13063696. Registered office: Suite 11 Conference Centre, Old Langho, Brockhall Village, Blackburn, Lancashire, BB6 8AY.

Anything about your personal data goes to Chloe Smith at [email protected].

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through this website we collect the name, business or site, email address and telephone number you give us, together with whatever detail you add about the equipment or the work. Product and location enquiries also record which page you sent the enquiry from, so we can answer it in context.

Why we hold it

We hold those details to answer your enquiry, prepare a quotation and, if you go ahead, carry out and support the work. That is the basis on which you tick the required consent box when you submit a form.

Marketing

The second checkbox on our forms is optional and separate. Tick it and we will add you to our marketing list and may send occasional emails about equipment, servicing and offers. Leave it blank and we will only ever contact you about your enquiry. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.

Who processes it

Enquiries are delivered by email to CKLS and stored in Brevo, our customer contact platform. Website statistics, described under Cookies and analytics, are processed for us by Google. We do not sell your details and we do not pass them to third parties for marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiry correspondence is retained for as long as we need it to support equipment we have supplied or quoted for. Marketing contacts are retained until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Detailed website statistics are deleted after 2 months; only totals and averages are kept after that.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact Chloe Smith at [email protected], or call us on 01200 411 914. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and analytics

Website statistics: on unless you turn them off

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see how the site is used, so we can make it better: which pages people read, which they leave, and where the site is hard to use. The law allows this without asking first, provided the statistics are used only to improve the site, we tell you about it, and you can turn it off easily. It is on by default, and you can turn it off below at any time.

When it is on, Google Analytics collects, for each visit:

  • the pages you view, in what order, and how long you spend on them;
  • actions such as clicking a phone number or email address, following a link to another site, scrolling down a page, and sending an enquiry (that an enquiry was sent and from which form, never what you wrote in it);
  • how you arrived: the website, search engine or advert link you came from;
  • your device type, browser, operating system, screen size and language;
  • your approximate location (country, region and town), worked out from your IP address. Google Analytics does not store the IP address itself;
  • a random identifier, kept in a cookie, so a returning browser can be counted as one visitor rather than several. It is not your name and is not linked to anything that identifies you.

What we do not do with it:

  • we never send Google your name, email address, phone number or the content of an enquiry;
  • we do not connect it to your Google account or to any other information Google holds (Google Signals is switched off);
  • we do not use it for advertising, or to build a profile of you, or to make decisions about you;
  • we look only at totals and averages, never at individual visitors.

Google processes this information for us, under our instructions, and has agreed not to use it for its own purposes. Google may process it outside the UK, including in the United States, under the UK–US data bridge. The detailed information is deleted after 2 months; only the totals remain. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used so we can improve it, and you can object at any time by turning it off.

Advertising cookies: off unless you allow them

We advertise on Google. With your permission, a Google Ads cookie tells us which of our adverts led to an enquiry, so we spend on the adverts that work. This is advertising, so we only do it if you allow it, and it is off until you do. Without your permission no advertising cookie is set, though Google Ads may still receive a signal that a page was viewed, with no cookie and nothing that identifies you.

Website statistics On

Google Analytics. Turning it off stops it immediately and deletes its cookies from your browser.

Advertising cookies Not allowed

Google Ads. Not allowing them deletes any already set.

These choices are saved in your browser, so they apply on every page and next time you visit. If you clear your browser's data you will need to choose again. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as turning statistics off. You can also change your choices from in the footer of every page.

The cookies themselves

  • _ga: Google Analytics. The random identifier described above. Lasts 2 years. Set unless you turn statistics off.
  • _ga_2MB7EDJVLY: Google Analytics. Keeps track of the current visit. Lasts 2 years. Set unless you turn statistics off.
  • _gcl_au: Google Ads. Connects a click on one of our adverts to an enquiry. Lasts 3 months. Only set if you allow advertising cookies.

Your choices are remembered in your browser's storage rather than a cookie. That is needed to respect them and is always on.

The map on our contact page is provided by Google Maps, and loading that page lets Google set its own cookies, which are covered by Google's privacy policy.
